Physiotherapy in the comfort of your own home. Improve your physical function and or progress your rehabilitation plan through real-time correspondence with a physiotherapist.
WHAT IS IT?
Real-time telerehabilitation for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions has been shown to be effective and comparable to standard practice (Cottrell et al., 2017).
A subjective assessment is conducted through a questionnaire prior to the consult and discussed with the physiotherapist to learn about your unique injury and story, and your goals from rehabilitation. An objective assessment is then conducted as the therapist instructs the patient through a number of movements and tests, watching them over video.
The patient is then directed through a series of self-treatment methods to help reduce pain and symptoms. An individualized, home exercise program is then created with video demonstrations and sent to the patient’s email. The therapist can then view and critique the patient as they perform their program, to ensure they are doing them correctly.
